Apple AirPods 2: All you need to Know

It's been known for months now that Apple's AirPods need an upgrade. We appear to have hit that time when everyone starts looking forward to the first Apple event of the year. There are rumors that Airpods 2 are imminent to launch before the Apple Event. The second-gen AirPods will come with a collection of new health-tracking features and Bluetooth 5.0 compatibility. the looks and feel of the product will however be the same but according to some reports, it will have a rubber cover to have a better grip in the ear.

A Greek iPhone rumor site, iPhonehellas.gr, cites sources in the supply chain to suggest that the new second-generation AirPods, the AirPower wireless charging mat and the new entry-level iPad will be available next month, Friday March 29th. On Monday, however, not only did MySmartPrice give News18 what are reportedly some new details about the earbuds but also an update about the evasive AirPower Wireless Charging Pad. If so, then this confirms that the new AirPods will support the new Bluetooth 5.0 Low Energy standard.

Along with the latest Bluetooth technology, these AirPods are likely to have some more sensors and according to rumors, these would be the health trackers and heart rate monitors. Also there will be room for improvement in Bass in terms of sound. These earphones will now be available in 2 colours: Black and White.

Battery life is reported to be similar to the current AirPods, though it will come in two colour options - Black and White. Moreover the AirPods 2 may be priced at $199 (around Rs. 14,200) as compared to the $159 price of the original AirPods. This is a $40 rise than the earlier version of it.
